Licensed to serve
Direct Event Insurance is a licensed insurance brokerage operating across the United States. We place coverage with A rated carriers through our appointed agencies and our brokerage relationships.
Our license
This section is being finalized. Contact us for current licensing details.
How we work
We are a brokerage, not a carrier. That means we do not underwrite or pay claims directly. We place your coverage with one of our carrier partners, who issues the policy and handles claims. Our job is to find the right carrier for your event, negotiate the best terms available, and serve as your advocate when something needs attention.
Carrier partners
We place coverage through a panel of trusted AM Best-rated insurance carriers. We do not publish specific carrier relationships publicly. Contact us for any state-specific admitted-status questions.
Surplus lines
Some event coverage is written on surplus lines paper. This is normal in the event industry, especially for high-attendance events, weather coverage, and certain liquor exposures. Surplus lines coverage is fully legal and broadly accepted. The key difference from admitted coverage is that surplus lines policies are not backed by the state guaranty fund. We disclose this clearly on every policy and explain the implications before binding.
Compliance
We carry errors and omissions insurance as a brokerage and follow all state and federal regulations governing insurance producers. We do not share customer information with anyone other than the carriers and underwriters we use to place your coverage. Our complete privacy policy is available at /privacy.
Verify our license
You can verify our license in any state we operate in by visiting that state's department of insurance website and searching for "Direct Event Insurance" or our license number. Most state DOI databases let you confirm licensing status, look up complaints, and view our producer history.
