Do you offer a nonprofit discount?

We don't run a separate nonprofit discount program. Pricing is the same published rate every applicant sees, and nonprofits keep cost down the same way other organizers do: choosing the right limits, adding board members and the venue as additional insureds at no charge, and routing gala vendors through the Vendor Liability Program so the nonprofit isn't billed for vendor coverage.

Can we add board members and honorary chairs as additional insureds?

Yes, at no charge. Add board members, honorary chairs, the executive director, and the venue all as additional insureds during checkout.

Question 3

What about the auction itself?

Accepted Answer

General liability covers spectator and bidder claims at the auction. Auctioneers and auction-services firms enroll under Vendor Liability Program. For high-value live auctions ($500K+ in proceeds), talk to David about specific auction-night coverage.

Question 4

Do we need liquor liability if the venue serves the bar?

Accepted Answer

If the venue is the named insured on the bar service and pours under their license, you generally don't. If you're hiring a third-party bartender or providing alcohol, you do, about $145 added to your policy.

Does cancellation coverage protect pledged donations?

Accepted Answer

Event Cancellation reimburses non-refundable expenses and lost revenue when the event is canceled or postponed for a covered reason. Pledged donations are typically included as lost revenue if the gala can't happen as scheduled.

Can we cover a multi-day fundraising series?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Multi-day events at the same venue bind under a single Special Event Liability policy. A series of events at different venues across a season can be quoted as a multi-event program; reach out and we'll structure it.

What about volunteers, are they covered?

Accepted Answer

Volunteers acting on behalf of the nonprofit at the event are covered under general liability. Some nonprofits add a separate Volunteer Accident policy for medical coverage; we can quote it alongside the event policy.
